The powerful and imposing Xander, Chief of all Guardian angels, has protected exceptional humans from demonic forces over the course of ten millennia without losing a single battle. In 1989, he receives an unusual assignment which will forever change his ordered existence and alter the course of human history. Will he lose the battle for his own heart while guarding a supernaturally gifted girl from the evil which surrounds her? Will he be strong enough to resist her as she grows from a precocious child into a beautiful, intelligent woman?

The veil dividing the physical and spiritual planes is drawn aside to reveal warfare on an unprecedented scale as Elizabeth develops her gifts and her guardian discovers his emotions.

Guardian The Guardian Trilogy Book 1 edition by Robin Helm Religion Spirituality eBooks

Breathtaking and soul-stirring! Can't rave enough about this book. It also is written very well with virtually no errors (technical, grammatical, etc.) and with an obvious background of great knowledge. There are a lot of angel (and demon) books out there but I've never come across one that so perfectly fits the TRADITIONAL model of supernatural beings as opposed to the pop culture model - and yet, this would make a fantastic movie or TV series. The pictures the author paints are vivid and the dialogue is perfect.

This book is also a great springboard for anyone who wants to start learning more about various parts of the Bible, what the real meanings of various passages are and what the battle is really for that goes on around and via humanity every single day. Even better, humans are the most precious things in the Universe and this book transmits that beautifully. You cannot remain unhumbled if you read this, but definitely prepare to be deeply moved. If you're not, there might be some nasty creatures hovering right behind you - and don't sneer. I've looked Evil in the face myself! I know it exists. But there are also miracles and great beauty.

Guardian The Guardian Trilogy Book 1 edition by Robin Helm Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

As we travel through life we often reach out to a higher power for inspiration, direction, and protection. How many times have we made a decision based on a gut feeling or what one might call an "angel" thought? In "Guardian, Vol.1", from Robin Helm's trilogy, we meet the young Bennet family of modern times. This family is one that is steeped in the Christian traditions of what one might call the "Bible Belt". Often quoting the Bible, Robin begins the "fantasy" with recalling the rebellion in heaven. She reminds the reader that the fall of Lucifer and his followers will have a profound influence over mankind, as humans are allowed free will in making their life choices.
In this story, God has provided guardians to help and guide the faithful. Fitzwilliam Alexander Darcy (Zander), one of God's protectors, has been assigned with the charge of watching over Elizabeth Bennet. As she progresses through her first 17 years, her gifts of intelligence and unusual musical abilities are revealed. Her heart, like that of many children is pure and trusting. She is faced with many challenges and choices. God has a plan for Elizabeth which Lucifer is bent on destroying. As her protector, Zander would lay down his life for this young girl in order to keep her safe. "Guardian",truly persues a different road to Pemberley and is well worth the read. Looking forward to Vol.2 "Soulfire".
I'm rather picky about P&P variations and have prized only one other for my permanent collection. I almost deleted this book from my because I thought it went too far in changing the essential character storylines, but never to quit anything I chose to finish. I'm glad I did. Near the end the storyline picks up (no spoiler alert details here). I was also surprised by the spiritual connections near the end. Pastor Randy Alcorn showed me that it is perfectly fine to have an imagination that is spurred by biblical truth and this author does not disappoint in this area. I was pleased to see her spiritually inspired imagination as she described how God solved Xander's biggest dilemma and how angels may look upon our gift of salvation. All in all, a very good read even if the beginning is a bit slow. If you want to find a very beautiful romance that isn't regency England without inspiring worldly lusts, then this book is meant for you.
Although I usually do not like books that use the names of Jane Austen characters but show no connection to the original story (in this case P&P) I am, however, very enthralled with this story. Yes, many of the characters have names from P&P but it is set in modern day USA and the dynamics and personalities are very different. I also do not like to be preached "at" even though I am a Christian and was fearful in reading the synopsis of the book that it would do just that. BUT I must say Robin Helm does an excellent job. Obviously, Ms. Helms knows her Bible very well and uses it appropriately. I won't go over the story line as many of the previous reviewers lay out the plot very well. I basically read this book in just over one day on my kindle - I couldn't put it down. At times i was weeping throughout the tale. And I kept thinking to myself - how can I convince and who can I convince to read this book? I know others will find this book fascinating. Can't wait to read the others in this series.
This is an interesting idea, telling the story of a modern-day Elizabeth from the perspective of her guardian angel. Kind of Frank Peretti meets Jane Austen, with battles between angels and demons. So far it is not very close to the original Pride and Prejudice. But certainly an interesting story, speculating on the role of angels in our lives.
"Oh. My. Word. This was not what I had expected! This is an amazing story, ... Even though this is a fictional story I was fascinated to see how the spiritual world might be at work around us. According to the Bible there is a spiritual battle being fought for us each day. It’s interesting to see the spiritual warfare that goes on in a persons life unseen by human eyes."
To quote another reviewer who said it so well.
I had read a series along these lines many years ago. This was a great reminder that we are not alone. Loved It.
